A famous medical researcher, Margaret R. Ritchie, PhD, recently observed that the link among food, medicine, and health goes as far back as 460 BC. Hippocrates, considered to be the Father of Medicine, revolutionized medicine in ancient Greece with an approach to healing that promoted the role of plants in managing health.

2,500 years later, that link to health is more valid than ever. A new book,
The Amazing Health Benefits of the Wonder Herb Pueraria Mirifica, by Richard A. Passwater, PhD, a well respected research bio chemist since 1959, is bringing new attention to this marvelous herb. (The book is available on our site, and is a great read.)

Pueraria Mirifica has been widely used throughout Southeast Asia for more than 700 years. Until recently it has been essentially unknown in the western world. Now this ancient remedy is increasingly coming to the attention of western medical researchers.

What exactly is Pueraria Mirifica?

P. mirifica (as it is known scientifically) is an edible plant that appears as a climbing, flowering vine. There are at least 13 varieties of Pueraria grown in Thailand, but not all Pueraria is Pueraria Mirifica. Only one variety that is grown in a specific area of northern Thailand qualifies with the exact, special properties that make it so effective.

A Ma Ta
How is it harvested / made?

Highly skilled harvesters correctly select the P. mirifica plants and sustainably harvest the roots, reintroducing the plants back to the soil. Precise identification is the key. The roots are then transported to an FDA registered and inspected facility here in the U.S., where a patented, pharmaceutical grade process transforms them to the compound we use in our products.

What is so special about Pueraria Mirifica?

It contains phytoestrogens, which are entirely plant based, and unlike any mammalian estrogen. The phytoestrogens in P. mirifica contain miroestrol and deoxymiroestrol, and which are nearly bioidentical to the “good” female estrogen estradiol.

What does this mean?

Discomfort during perimenopause and menopause (hot flashes, night sweats, sleeplessness, vaginal dryness, etc.) often is the result of fluctuating hormone levels leading to either estrogen dominance or estrogen deprivation. The phytoestrogens act as an adaptogen, providing a safe alternative to HRT, and can help balance hormone levels. The result is a return to balance and often significant relief from menopausal symptoms.

Does Pueraria Mirifica have other benefits?

Absolutely.....and studies have shown that it can help support:

• Natural vaginal lubrication • Healthy memory function • Skin collagen and tone • Bone health • Prostate health • Reproductive health •

After years of research, Amata Life® has developed supplements designed to deliver the highest quality Pueraria Mirifica from a dependable, trusted source. And now this 700 year old secret from the East is helping thousands of women feel better, and embrace this very special time of their lives.

look at PubMed trial. Best give all sides to this herb. maybe good, maybe about how much given as to whether C-reactive Protein doubles. I wasn't happy about this herb so far. Needs more investigation. Loads of good things out there for Menopause. Stay safe and get others to stay safe. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29409850

I found that this supplement increased my hot flashes! I starred taking 1 twice a day for 2 weeks and had a hot flash about every hour! So then I decreased it to once a day and the hot flashes still were bad. I’ve have not taken any for 4 days now and they finally have let up some. I am so disappointed, was really hoping for a noticeable change. I am 64 and had a complete hysterectomy 8 years ago and awful hot flashes ever since.

Using, Pueraria Mirifica Plus, for close to one month now with amazing results. No hot flashes, skin improvements, especially, with cracked dry feet that are healed, in the now. I sleep very well normally, yet, sleeping now is better, deeper perhaps.
Thank you, Dr. Christian, for this product, I chucked the bio identical hormones in favour of your product so far.
Your facial hydration spray is amazing to! Waiting for the facial cream to arrive, and intend to continue to spoil myself with your amazing products. Self care is so very wise.

I am interested in this product so I did some research. I found this on PubMed which is a concern. Is there other safety research you could point me to? Thank you!

Lori – we would encourage you to read the recently published book by Richard Passwater, PhD, available either on our site or on Amazon, and to look at the research that has been accumulated by the manufacturer of Puresterol on their site, www.puresterolpm.com. There is a great deal of research regarding the efficacy and safety of Pueraria Mirifica, and gathering as much information as possible as you make your health choices is always a good thing.

Also, studies in mice don’t really mean anything because rodents ( mice and rats— known as murine species ) have very high amounts of an estrogen called equol which is not present in humans. Thus, comparing what happens in mice to what happens in humans is wholely inadequate. Here’s another study that shows that PM actually stops estrogen sensitive tissue growth. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22460444/ Thanks.
